1. Clean Your Ventilation Vents Regularly

Condo ventilation systems circulate air throughout the building — which means dust, pet dander, and allergens from other units can end up in yours. Wipe your vents monthly with a damp cloth and vacuum the grills every few weeks. It makes a noticeable difference in air quality, especially in older buildings.

2. Use a Microfibre Mop on Hard Floors

Most Toronto condos have hardwood, laminate, or tile floors. A microfibre flat mop picks up fine dust and hair far better than a traditional string mop — and it's gentler on laminate finishes. Dry-mop twice a week and damp-mop weekly for consistently clean floors.

3. Keep a Squeegee in the Shower

Soap scum and hard water stains are the enemy of condo bathrooms, especially with Toronto's tap water. A 30-second squeegee after every shower prevents buildup and cuts your bathroom cleaning time in half. It's one of the simplest habits with the biggest payoff.

4. Wipe Down High-Touch Surfaces Daily

Light switches, door handles, faucet handles, and elevator buttons are touched constantly. In a condo environment, a quick daily wipe with a disinfecting cloth on your own high-touch surfaces takes under two minutes and keeps bacteria levels down significantly.

5. Deal With Smells at the Source

Condo kitchens have limited airflow compared to houses. Empty your garbage every 2–3 days, clean your range hood filter monthly, and place an open box of baking soda in the fridge. For lingering cooking smells, simmer water with lemon slices and cinnamon on the stovetop for 15 minutes.

6. Declutter Before You Clean

In a smaller space, clutter makes cleaning take twice as long — and makes the space feel dirty even when it isn't. Spend 10 minutes before each cleaning session returning items to their place. When our cleaners arrive to a decluttered space, they can focus entirely on cleaning rather than organizing.

7. Book a Deep Clean Once a Year

Even if you clean regularly, condos benefit from a thorough annual deep clean: inside the oven, inside cabinets, behind the fridge, grout lines, baseboards. Think of it as a reset. Most of our condo clients book this in spring, after a long winter of keeping windows closed.
